In addition to our doctors ability to peer into the eye and check it’s health, our office is equipped with a retinal camera. This camera allows us to take a picture of the inside of the eye. This technology is incredibly important and valuable in determining whether the eye is healthy at the time of the examination, as well as ensuring that they remains so in the future. For our healthy patients, the retinal (inside of the eye) photo serves as baseline image to be used as a comparison during subsequent visits. Our camera also allows us to check for eye specific conditions like macular degeneration, glaucoma, eye freckles, parasitic eye infections and other conditions.
For those patients with health issues like diabetes, hypertension and other conditions, the camera allows us to see how those conditions are effecting your eyes and your body, today and in the future. Our retinal camera has uncovered things like strokes, diabetes, high blood pressure and a myriad of other health conditions that can, if left untreated, lead to blindness and worse.
We’re also able to dilate our patients, so that our doctors can evaluate the “walls” inside the eye, to check for things like holes.tears and retinal detachments.
Schedule an appointment today and let’s make sure that your eyes are healthy today, tomorrow and into the future
